Quick and Easy Crock Pot Recipes

Like many busy homemakers, I like one dish meals. Casseroles are easy to make and there is only one dish to wash. My husband, who is a very good cook, and I have some favorites, but not wanting to heat up the kitchen in the summertime we decided to try something different. We thought perhaps our recipes would work in the crockpot so we tried one and it worked.

This is one of our favorites.

Ingredients:

1 pound of hamburger
6 medium potatoes
1 15 oz can green beans
1 15 oz can corn
1 15 oz can peas
1 10.5 oz can cream of mushroom soup
1 10.5 oz can cream of celery soup
1/2 cup water
1 oz shredded cheddar cheese

Directions:

Brown and drain the hamburger and set aside.
Peel and slice the potatoes and place them in the bottom of the crockpot. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Place the drained hamburger on top of the potatoes. Layer the vegetables on top of the hamburger. Mix the two cans of soup with the water. Pour the soup mixture over the vegetables. Sprinkle the cheese on top, cover and cook. This can be cooked on LOW for 8 to 10 hours or on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours.

You can substitute other meats, such as round steak cubed, or cut up chicken. Other vegetables can also be substituted. Make this to your own taste. It is easy and very tasty. Enjoy!
